“I also want this to be over babe, I hate how this is making you feel more than anything else. You don’t deserve this, and our history and friendships don’t deserve this either.” he said, as she took her medicine.
When she wrapped her hands around him, he hugged her back, tightly “Yes Di, we can go back to bed and just snuggle and watch movies, and I will stroke your hair until you fall asleep, and I will watch you sleep and I’ll be here when you wake up. You will always have me, you can be sure of that.” he said, as he picked her up in his arms and walked back to the room. He laid her down and got the remote and joined her. “Okay, now come here, just hold onto to me and rest. I love you!”
Her arms latched around his neck as he moved them to her bedroom. When she was set down, she climbed under the covers and adjusted her pillow. “Okay,” she said with a small smile as she moved over and cuddled into him.
She flipped on a random TV station then handed the remote to Mark. “Here. I’m going to be out soon, so you can take it a flip to whatever you want.” She rested her head on his chest and was out in a matter of five minutes.
I love you and I’ll be there for you, always!
I love you.
Mark was pissed at what they were putting Dianna through. It wasn’t fair, it just wasn’t fair. What she said was right, they were adults, they should sit and talk, and stop with the back firing, and they should start realizing that things were not changed by what she did, if not, they were getting better. When she started to calm herself down, Mark walked towards her with a glass of water and a Tylenol PM to hep her calm down.
“I agree with you baby, I do, you are right and we should behave as adults and just get this over with. I am also stressed and mad and sad with it all.” he said. “Here, take this, it will help you calm down a little, you need to rest so you can go talk to them. We cannot yell at each other, we need to sit and talk, calmly.” he said. He was trying his hardest to keep calm for her. “She didn’t need him yelling as well.
“Will you let me take care of you today? And I will see when we can sit and talk, all four of us, okay? But please, let me help you. I love you and I hate seeing you suffering so much.”
"I just want it to be over. I want to open my eyes and have this all be a horrible horrible dream. I can’t fight anymore," she said quietly. She grabbed the pill and the glass of water. The pill glided down her throat and she just wrapped her arms around Mark.
"Can we just curl up in bed and watch movies? I just want to go back to sleep and forget about this whole thing," she mumbled into his chest. "I’m sorry I’m being so clingy and needy and emotional. This has taken a huge toll on me and you’re the only person I have."
Dianna was getting really angry and he was really worried about her. As she started moving around the kitchen, energetically, he stood up and just watched her. When she was done he held her hands and made her look at him. “Dianna, please, calm down. You cannot get stressed like this, just calm down please. Breath deep. I know this is all stressful, but being angry and yelling won’t solve anything, it may even get things worse.”
He hugged her and tried soothing her. “Look, we do have to talk, I agree, we can’t jut ignore it, but we can’t storm out and do it. We have to sit down when we are all calm.”
"I will not calm down," she said loudly and let go of his hands so she could start pacing again. "I am not going to lose to of my friends over something ridiculous that I did. We’re supposed to be adults! Adults get over things like this is an mature matter. Ignoring this is not being very adult, Mark!" She ran her fingers through her hair and took a deep breath. "This is stressing me out. I’m stressed with work and with this bullshit. I honestly feel like all this is making me feel sick."
She propped up against the counter and took a few calming breaths. “I need to talk to them. I don’t care when or how or whatever. I just need to talk this through with them.”
"Di, I’ve told you that it’s okay." He said, moving away from her and caressing her face. "I don’t mind waiting, I honestly don’t. I want you to be sure of every step we take together okay?" he told her, kissing her cheek.
His heart broke to see her crying. He wanted to hug her and make her feel better but he knew her enough to know she didn’t want to. He let her go to the kitchen and stayed in the room, nervous, hoping she was fine.
It had been almost half an hour and she still wasn’t back. So he walked into the kitchen and saw her on he floor. He turned the coffee machine off and silently sat on the floor, by her and wrapped his arms around her. Not one word was said, he just held her.
She had lost track of how long she was sitting on the floor. It had to be longer than ten minutes because her toast popped up, but she didn’t even care. Before she knew it, Mark was on the floor next to her.
She gripped his shirt and cried onto his shoulder. “I need to fix this,” she sobbed. “Your friendships are getting ruined and I don’t want that. I’ve hurt so many people with this shit.” She stood up and started pacing around the kitchen.
She was getting very angry. “I’m done with all of this. This shit has gone on for too long. I know I messed up, but it’s never going to get fixed if we just avoid it,” she shouted. “All four of us need to sit down and just have a conversation like human beings!”
